Conclusion

Today I conclude my blog entries for the year. Final major project draws ever closer to its submission date and I will be ready.

I am very happy with my overall progress and still have time to tie together some outstanding pieces of paperwork needed between now and the 19th May.

I will be gathering pieces of work from my contributors and evidence I helped on another project today. Pieces outstanding to this date include a detailed evaluation, a completed bibliography and a printed hard copy of this blog.

The next stage will be collating all my work in order and arranging my portfolio ready for submission.

Production part.8

I have bought a DVD from the resources department this morning ready to burn my advert. I have planned to work with Apple iDVD software this morning to create a working DVD at the correct aspect ratio with an interactive menu.

I am extremely happy with my billboard advert and spoke to my tutor Kelly Elston to find a graphics printer to print a high quality A1 print (if possible) to mount for submission.

These are the tasks I have set myself today so I can convert my digital media into tangible pieces of work I can hand in on the 19th May.

Production part.7

The Easter break is over and I have gone over my portfolio to date to perfection. Today I will look again at my finished billboard advertisement and TV advert and begin re-mastering them.

I have thought up a few things I could alter and amend over the holidays and will start by adding some effects to my TV advert.

The first half of the morning I have spent speaking with my lecturer Tracy Turner to evaluate my project and to check if I am working on task for the 19th May deadline.

Production part.6

Editing my TV advert has been a bigger challenge than expected. I have developed a good energy gauge which I will incorporate into my billboard advertisement to create a link between both my print ad and TV ad.

Today’s agenda will be exploring masking techniques to slowly reveal the energy gauge in sync with Red Bull filling the glass.

If I run into problems today I will consider approaching classroom peers or a member of staff for advice. However I think I can work independently and complete my TV advert today.

Production part.5

I have begun editing my TV advert this week and made various attempts at producing an energy gauge that explodes upon reaching max energy.

After Effects has been an extremely useful piece of software working on this product so far. I have found its extensive broad range of effects and options has given me hope to achieve my desired vision.

Production part.4

I will be working with Adobe Photoshop again this week developing my billboard to completion if feasible. I would like to have the majority of my billboard advertisement complete so i can work on editing my TV advert next week.

I will be manipulating several properties with my imported Illustrator text; using settings such as the gradient mask, inner and outer glows creating tints of colour and experimenting with Bebel emboss.

Production part.3

I have been working all morning with Adobe Photoshop; manipulating my photographs that will eventually become my billboard advertisement. I have given myself adequate time to develop my billboard advertisement because I have plans to mount it and use it to show possible employees and universities.

Another reason I have set aside ample time to complete this particular task is because I want the standard of my product to shine. I will take time experimenting with various effects and techniques, exploring tools and settings that could help contribute completing my billboard that speaks for itself.

Production part.2

Today I have been following tutorials developing my own fonts in Adobe Illustrator. I have been researching and studying how to do this in the comfort of my own home for quite some time.

I have been experimenting with the various tools I have access to with Adobe Illustrator. I am fortunate to have earned extra experience with this software through another unit I have recently submitted called Idents.

Using my knowledge of the program and Google at my disposal, I will be working independently this week to create a unique font to use across my advertising campaign.

Production part.1

I have finished the final pieces of pre-production over the weekend and completed them to a professional standard. I enjoyed producing my equipment audit and personnel sheet because it marked the end of pre-production.

I have hired the equipment I need for today and handed out my call sheet to my contributors in advance during the weekend.

I have started production one week later than planned due to a minor problem. The problem that occurred was a booking issue. The photography camera I planned to hire didn’t return the day I booked it and I couldnt collect any other day.

However I will be following my production schedule regardless and planned to photograph my billboard advertisement this Friday.

Today I am planned to shoot my Red Bull TV advert at 10am-12.30pm. Hopefully by the end of the afternoon I will be able to import the footage before I leave.

This will open the opportunity to edit later in the week if I get spare time.

Pre.Production part.9

I completed a production schedule over the weekend and finished my progress report. This production schedule will help me manage my production allocating lessons to specific jobs.

I will finish a contingency report by this afternoon, listing viable fall back plans for things that might go wrong.

For example; if I cannot complete tasks set on my production schedule. I will put extra hours in that week, working on that technique or job to complete it by next week using my lunch breaks.

Pre.Production part.8

I plan to make a start on my production schedule, call sheet and personnel sheet that are important for my up coming production. However I want to get all my word documents complete to a high standard before I begin them.

Today I signed a contributor contact which spurred me to make my own contact. I plan on asking for Frances Lyndale and Alex Clark signatures this evening to add signed contracts to my portfolio.

Frances Lyndale has been documenting my meetings so far and I will remember to collect that document when I finish my last meeting.

With the available time left in lesson I will start developing a progress report and finish it over the weekend.

Pre.Production part.7

This morning I have had a lesson on SWOT analysis. I have learnt that it is required to list my strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.

Listing these will identify things i can improve upon within my project as well help contribute to the development of documentation such as contingency planning and my evaluation at the end of my project.

Today’s lesson I made a SWOT analysis and wrote a 600 word report analysing my skills and techniques I will need to learn to complete my project.

Pre.Production part.6

I completed my Tutor feedback Evaluation and worked today on codes of practice referencing Ofcom, ASA.

Using this information I started what I found the hardest document to write so far; Red Bull Client Brief.

I constructed this brief to set myself the tasks that lay before me. This includes client requirements and specifications that I have discussed with my client. (Tracey Turner)

Pitch to Client feedback

Today I received my tutor feedback form two and got awarded a Distinction. I am very happy with this decision and feel that I deserve it.

This means I can keep working towards achieving a Distinction throughout my project. While my pitch feedback is fresh I will write a tutor feedback form evaluation this morning.

When I complete this document I will be approaching the last stages of pre-production.

Pitch to Client

Today I have my pitch to client. The Christmas break is over and I have been working very hard preparing my pitch to client.

I have used my tutor feedback form to work on my shortcomings that hindered achieving a Distinction.

I have taken great care working on creating a Distinction level pitch. Today I brought with me detailed storyboards, sketches, books and magazines.

Including enhanced visual aides, and practicing my pitch from a constructive script layout. I have specifically ensured I will produce a much clearer and steady paced pitch. Indicating what I plan to produce for my campaign and a wide range of techniques I will apply and learn.

My setbacks before Christmas never dampened my spirits, instead driven me to
Ensure I complete this pitch to a distinction level.

Over the holiday I identified my final proposal (Treatment.1) and created an in depth project proposal form, signed by my tutor Tracey.

The last thing I will do today is have a meeting with my contributor, Frances Lyndale and have my second meeting about time management this evening.
