Pitch to Peers feedback

Last week I pitched to peers and I am quite disappointed. I feel I could have done a much better pitch worthy of my written work if I allocated more time to preparation.

I think the pressure of going first; including nerves and lack of preparation portrayed my ability and standard of work in a poor light.

However I did get very good feedback responses. These responses have helped sway my decision which advertisement I will produce. A particular comment got the response I wanted to achieve from a consumer "An interesting concept, creative and memorable".

Idea.1 (Treatment.1) was very successful and my personal favourite; I plan to produce this advertisement accompanied by my TV advert, working in synergy with one another to create my campaign.

I have been given my first tutor feedback form from my pitch and achieved a Merit. This is not the specified standard I am aiming to produce. The good news is that I have a second chance.

I will not be hindered by my inexperience pitching. Instead I will take the criticism of my tutor and strive to produce a distinction pitch to client, worthy of my written work.

Pitch to Peers

Today I will be pitching my three print advertisement proposals and my TV advert proposal.

I have brought my visual aides to help me feel comfortable within my pitch and give my audience something to draw their attention.

I am slightly nervous because I have spent a lot of time producing my ideas, researching and creating my reports. This has built a high standard portfolio I am proud of.

However I could of giving myself more time to prepare my pitch. I will document my feelings on my pitch in my next blog entry.

Pre.Production part.5

I planned to create my storyboards this week; however I found spare time at home to complete these at the weekend.

Instead I have worked on my "Suitability of each Proposal" document. I enjoyed writing this report because it shows the thought I put into my ideas; accompanied by each of my treatments and sketches to help people visualise my campaign.

This afternoon I will construct a simple feedback sheet to prompt a wide range of quantitative answers when I pitch to peers. Later on I will create a primary research questionnaire. This questionnaire will specifically be tailored to qualitative answers I can collate.

This way I can get the best responses out of my consumers and peers. I can see who drinks Red Bull and why in my questionnaire, and find out which of my proposals is liked the most by my peers and why.

Pre.Production part.4

I have been working today creating treatments for my sketches I have developed. I completed a large range of secondary research over the weekend. I highlighted relevant information and created some detailed word reports to explain my findings.

I also started using Harvard Referencing in my reports taught by Tracey for my bibliography in the future.

My portfolio is building up to a very high standard. Today I felt it was important to construct my proposals/treatments and visuals aides, ready for my pitch soon.

Next week I will create my storyboards for my TV advert and write my “Suitability of each proposal” document which could help me gather notes I could mention in my pitch on the 18/11/09.

Pre.Production part.3

Today my lecturer Tracey gave me a date to pitch my ideas to peers. This is a important date because it’s vital I gather good feedback and produce a confident pitch.

Last week I made the decision to advertise Red Bull. Red Bull is an energy drink that currently uses the branding "Red Bull gives you wings".

I have been sketching ideas and mind maps rebranding Red Bull's identity. My idea with the most strength to date is a campaign aimed at students.

Today and over the weekend I will iron out some strong ideas, taking my time to create a good portfolio of research. This will hopefully inspire me to create unique designs and develop some creative proposals for my pitch.

Pre.Production part.2

I have decided to work on a Print Advertising Campaign. I have made this decision because I would like to experiment with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator; creating big visual billboard designs.

Today I plan to brainstorm initial ideas on what I want to advertise. When I decide on a product I will start creating sketches and ideas to add to my portfolio.

Pre.Production part.1

Today I was given my final major project brief. Tracey gave an in depth informative lecture on what is expected of us by the end of the year and what we need to achieve.

The first task is deciding upon what medium I want to produce. It is advised to work on a topic of interest, and a particular medium that might reflect my career path. This will give me chance to use my end product to show employers and universities.

The choices I have narrowed down are Music Video, Interactive website or a Print Advertising campaign.
